Renowned for both his technical excellence and brilliance on strings, Vijay Jagtap holds a master’s degree in Sitar from Maharaja Sayajirao Universtiy, Vadodara, India and hails from a family of musicians.
Vijay Jagtap is a committed artist who infuses sheer magic in his sitar performance. This was evident at his performance at the Westminster Abbey, London, in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, on the occasion of an Observance for Commonwealth day in 1998. He has given several BBC television and radio performances and mesmerised listeners with his brilliant performance, beautiful compositions, and sharing his musical legacy with his students at workshops.
